Happy Adventures Preschool

Happy Adventures Preschool is a preschool & forest school based in Huddersfield. They believe in immersing two to five-year-olds in nature, helping them to become kind, caring individuals.

Happy Adventures Preschool needed a website that accurately represented who they are. The goal was to emphasize their values. Besides a homepage, they needed pages for a gallery, staff, policies, forest school, FAQ's, child development, pricing, and contact. The home page needed to include an introduction from the owners, testimonials from parents, and information about their 3 core beliefs. There needed to be a call to action to funnel users to their contact page. The design needed to be friendly and modern, whilst promoting their beliefs about outdoor learning.

We began the design process with a consultation, allowing us to work out the scope of the project. It was important that we both understood what the project required. It was at this stage that we discussed existing websites that were liked, along with working out the boring stuff.

The consultation provided me with all the information I needed to begin designing. For this project, I created 3 potential homepages. 2 inspired by existing sites that they liked, and 1 custom solution. This allowed them to mix and match the elements they liked a create a custom site.

Once they had chosen the overall design of their homepage, I had a good understanding of the style they were looking for in the final design.

I went away and created the designs for their whole site.

The main focus of Eric The Bear, is the adventures that he goes on, and the stories that he has to tell. As part of this, it was important for us to ensure that the page that contained all of his adventures was perfect. It needed to be a reflection of what Eric The Bear stood for.

This project was a real joy to work on. It allowed to expand on my design skills and let me reflect on how attention to detail is important.

While I am writing this, Eric The Bear is still sharing adventures, occasionally taking extended breaks to work on bigger projects to expand on his vision.

I am continually working alongside Eric The Bear to achieve these dreams and ambitions.
